Hava ve Füze Savunması
Türkiye'nin hava ve füze savunma kabiliyetini geliştirmek
üzere orta ve uzun menzilli hava savunma füze tedariki planlanmaktadır.
Bu kapsamda ABD'nden 8 batarya I-HAWK PIP-3 orta menzilli
hava savunma füze sistemi tedarik edilmekte olup projenin
2003-2006 yılları arasında tamamlanması planlanmaktadır. TSK'nin
hava savunma füze sistemi kabiliyetinin geliştirilmesi bakımından
Áok büyük bir öneme sahip olan uzun menzilli yüksek irtifa
bölge hava savunma füze sistemi tedariki iÁin ise alternatif
sistemler üzerine incelemeler devam etmektedir. |

Air
and Missile Defence in TAF
In
order to improve the air and missile defence capability
of Turkey plans are in progress to acquire medium- and long-range
air defence missiles. As part of this plan, procurement
of eight I-HAWK PIP-3 medium-range air defence missile system
batteries from the United States is in progress, planned
for completion between 2003 and 2006. The long-range high-altitude
area air defence missile system procurement project has
crucial importance for TAF to improve its air defence missile
system capabilities. In this context the TAF has been working
on a project to acquire a new-generation, anti-missile capable
surface-to-air missile system to replace or to operate with
its aging Nike Hercules. TAF has not yet decided on a particular
system but is in the process of preparing a technical specification
list.
